The Junior Lifeguard Camp teaches youth, ages 9-14 the fundamentals of lifeguarding and will focus on the safety awareness and skill development that will enhance the future of each camper while having fun! Topics include lifeguard skills, CPR, First Aid, environmental conditions affecting lifeguards, physical activities and a field trip to the Rapids Water Park on the Friday of each session. 2009 Junior Lifeguard Camp Schedule:
SESSION 1- June 8th thru June 12th
SESSION 2- June 22th thru June 26th
SESSION 3- July 13th thru July 17th
SESSION 4- July 27th thru July 31st
SESSION 4- August 10th thru August 14th
Camp Details:
Camp cost is $225 per child, per session and includes instruction, workbook, rash guard and field trip to the Rapids Water Park. Camp will take place Monday-Thursday at the Jupiter Civic Center, located inside the oceanfront Carlin Park on A1A in Jupiter, and on Fridays at the Rapids Water Park. Parents must provide transportation to and from the Rapids on Fridays. Each session allows a maximum of 20 campers and a 1:10 instructor to camper ratio will be maintained during this camp. All instructors are certified to teach lifeguarding, first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillators (AED). Instructors are equipped with water safety equipment, first aid supplies, two-way radios and an emergency cell phone.
Camp Hours:
9AM-4PM- You may drop off and pick up your child up to 15 minutes before the start and end time of this camp.
Registration:
Open Registration begins on Friday, March 20, 2009 and can be completed in person at the Jupiter Community Center, located at 200 Military Trail or online at
www.jupiter.fl.us/parksrecreation/welcome-to-webtrac.cfm. In person registration takes place Monday-Friday, 8AM-8PM and Saturday, 8AM-4PM.
